The Ottawa New Music Creators are proud to present Did I escape, I wonder… the exciting contemporary telling of the Medusa myth by Concordia’s Sebastian Hutchings and Sarah Albu (Vital Organs Opera). On November 19th, Ottawa’s intimate Cube Gallery (1285 Wellington St W) will host two singers, six instrumentalists and atmospheric video projections to bring to life this performance which combines the best of chamber music, alternative theatre, tragic opera and performance art.

Audiences will be awed by the dramatic musical portrayals of a frenzied man that drives the audience to their death, a tormented outcast who prepares herself for the hunt, and two weary statues come to life seeking reconciliation at the edge of a reflecting pool. The roster of performers – many of which are rising stars in the Ottawa and Montreal contemporary music communities – should not be missed. This show is sure to leave audiences lusting for more sultry operas by these young Canadian composers and the Ottawa New Music Creators.
